T his portal-like tomb is located on the Friefhof Ohlsdorf Hamburg. The sculpture and the sculpture was created in 1903 by sculptor Caedar Scharff. In front are the tomb of granite sculptures on either side. These represent sphinxes, which are within the meaning of Egyptian and Greek idea of guarding the grave. The bronze sculpture embodies Charon, a young, beautiful just died at the wrist and holds it in his boat, pulls in order to bring about the Acheron (Styx) to the entrance of Hades.
